Tips at home to help you save

  • Replace household lights with energy-efficient LED light bulbs.
  • Unplug unused electrical devices entirely (appliances on standby are often using a lot of electricity).
  • Recycle rainwater or greywater for the garden – for areas that charge for the amount of water you use, it could be better for your pocket too.
  • Buying in bulk may be cheaper and is great for cooking large portions that you can freeze, especially if they are items you buy often.
  • Repair clothes or broken furniture where possible instead of repurchasing.
  • Before buying new, try a second-hand store or website first.
