The ANZ Managed Investment Funds (the “Funds”) offer a range of five managed investment Funds that spread your investment across a wide range of asset classes such as shares, listed property, fixed interest and cash assets.

It’s easy to join the Funds. All you need to do is read the information in the ANZ Managed Investment Funds investment statement (PDF 2.09MB). Once you’ve read the investment statement and chosen one of the Funds, tell us by filling out the relevant application form at the back of the investment statement and sending it to us.

As an investor in the ANZ Managed Investment Funds, you benefit from flexible investment and withdrawal options. You choose:

  • how much and when to invest
  • when to withdraw your money
  • which Fund your money is invested in.

The Funds are also tax efficient, as each Fund is a Portfolio Investment Entity (PIE). This means the maximum tax rate is 28%.

The Funds are multi-sector funds that spread their investments over hundreds of assets across local and international markets and give you access to a broad range of assets you might not otherwise be able to invest in.

The Funds work well with other types of savings or investments, such as KiwiSaver and term deposits. The Funds are more diversified than a term deposit (because they invest in more asset classes) and more flexible than KiwiSaver (because you can withdraw your money at any time). The Funds generally suit investment periods of three years or more.

There are five multi-sector investment Funds: the Conservative Fund; the Conservative Balanced Fund; the Balanced Fund; the Balanced Growth Fund; and the Growth Fund.

The Funds are managed by OnePath, ANZ’s award-winning fund manager. OnePath has an outstanding record of investment performance in New Zealand and is New Zealand’s most awarded fund manager. Who is OnePath?

For each of the five Funds offered through the ANZ Managed Investment Funds there is a maximum fee that can be charged to each Fund per year. The fee is different for each Fund, since some of the Funds need more management than others. This maximum fee will affect an investor’s returns. The maximum fee is made up of the following:

  • the management fee
  • the trustee fee
  • Fund expenses
  • the fees and expenses of other funds in which the Funds invest (we call these ‘underlying funds’).

The maximum fees are deducted from each of the Funds. Fees are calculated daily and will reduce a Fund’s unit price.

Fund Maximum fee (percentage of net assets)
Conservative 1.30%
Conservative Balanced 1.35%
Balanced 1.40%
Balanced Growth 1.45%
Growth 1.50%

The ANZ Managed Investment Funds offer five investment Funds. Each Fund invests in a different mix of asset classes and has a different risk/return profile. Investors can choose the Fund that is best suited to help them achieve their investment goals.

The relationship between risk and return is very important. Investors seeking higher returns need to be willing to accept more risk. If an investor wants less risk, they need to be willing to accept lower returns. The description, risk/return profile and benchmark asset class mix for each Fund is set out below.
