Using Voice ID and ANZ Phone Banking

Step-by-step guides for registering for Voice ID and ANZ Phone Banking.

Voice ID

Voice ID is your own unique and secure voiceprint that allows you to log in to Phone Banking, identify yourself with our contact centre, or make larger payments in the ANZ goMoney mobile app.


To register for Voice ID you’ll need your:

  • Customer number 
  • Mobile number
  • Phone Banking PIN 

Your customer number usually appears on the back of your ANZ credit and debit cards. If you can’t find it, or you don’t have a Phone Banking PIN, call us 0800 269 296.

  1. We need a clear recording of your voice, so find somewhere quiet then call 0800 269 843
  2. Enter your customer number then select #
  3. When prompted, say the phrase My voice confirms my identity three times 
  4. When prompted, say your customer number three times (or select # to skip)
  5. When prompted, say your mobile number three times (or select # to skip)
  6. Enter your Phone Banking PIN then select #

Phone Banking

Use Phone Banking to bank securely, with no need for a smartphone or internet access. Available anytime, day or night.


To register for Phone Banking you’ll need your customer number. Your customer number usually appears on the back of your ANZ credit and debit cards. If you can’t find it, call us on 0800 269 296.

  1. Call us on 0800 269 296. If you’re overseas, call +64 4 470 3142, charges may apply
  2. Say or enter your customer number then select #
  3. If you’re registered for Voice ID, saying your customer number will authenticate you. Otherwise, you’ll be prompted to enter your 4-7 digit PIN

To use Phone Banking you’ll need your customer number. Your customer number usually appears on the back of your ANZ credit and debit cards. If you can’t find it, call us on 0800 269 296.

  1. Call 0800 103 123. If you’re overseas, call +64 4 472 7123, charges may apply
  2. Say or enter your customer number then select #
  3. If you’re registered for Voice ID, saying your customer number will authenticate you. Otherwise, you’ll be prompted to enter your 4-7 digit PIN
  4. Follow the prompts. You’ll be told what number to select for each task. You can also see the list in the Phone Banking guide (PDF 93.5KB)
