We need to do this so we can comply with laws of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing.
Key features
How to use eVerify
To use eVerify, ANZ’s electronic identity verification service, you must:
- Be over 18 years of age
- Hold a current New Zealand driver’s licence or New Zealand passport
- Have a compatible mobile or smart device (iOS operating system 7 or above, or Android™ operating system 5 or above).
Terms apply, see important information.
It only takes a few minutes
- Following a conversation with us, you’ll receive an email from IDkit (on behalf of ANZ). If you do not see the email in your inbox, please check your spam/junk folder.
- From a mobile or smart device, click the link in the email which will take you to our secure identification portal, eVerify. You must launch eVerify from a compatible device, as you’ll need a camera to complete photo and video identification. If you launch eVerify from a PC or laptop, a QR code will be displayed. Using your mobile device, scan the QR code to continue with the eVerify process.
- You’ll be asked to take a photo of your ID and review your personal details.
- Then you’ll take a short selfie video, so we can match it to the photo on your ID.
- Once this is all completed, you can close the window.
Handy tips for electronic verification identity
- Don’t wear glasses or sunglasses when taking your selfie video
- All four corners of your ID document should be clearly displayed and not obstructed in the photo you take of your ID
- Double check that your personal information, like name and date of birth, are correct before submitting.
Why you might see an error
- Your verification link may have expired. You’ve only got three days from receiving the link to verify your identity. If the link has expired, please contact us.
- If you use an Apple device on a non-Safari browser. Please use Safari to access the email link.
- If your device is not supported, you will need to use a newer Apple or Android device.
- Your ID isn’t recognised or accepted. You’ll need to use a valid New Zealand driver’s licence or New Zealand passport and ensure the camera on your mobile device can fully capture it.
