You’ll pay no monthly account fee and if you do all your banking electronically (e.g. Visa Debit, ATMs, ANZ goMoney or ANZ Internet Banking) you'll pay no transaction fees. A fee of $3 per transaction applies to manual transactions1.

We can help you switch

We’ll open your new accounts2, and work with your current bank to transfer your balances and existing payments. We’ll also set you up with goMoney and Internet Banking5, and close your old accounts8, all usually within 14 days. Join the fast way using our goMoney app

Join using goMoney5 if you’re 13+, live in New Zealand, have a compatible mobile device, and hold a current New Zealand passport or driver licence.

You’ll need to take a photo of your ID and a selfie video on your phone to confirm your identity. In most cases, you won’t need to visit a branch but we may give you a quick call to complete your registration.

If you’re aged 21+, joining via goMoney will automatically open a Go account for you. If you’re studying full time and want to apply for a Jumpstart account instead, please use our online form.

If you don’t have goMoney yet, simply search for ‘ANZ goMoney New Zealand’ in the App Store or Google Play Store and install on your mobile device.

Manual transactions include transactions handled by our staff, including at a branch, by phone, or online. Balances and basic account enquiries at a branch are free. We process any deposits received through ANZ Fast Deposit Boxes as staff-assisted, manual transactions. When manual transactions occur between two accounts that each apply a manual transaction fee, each account will incur its own fee, resulting in two separate fees.

Transactional and saving accounts only. It can take up to 5 days to receive payment information from your previous bank and certain direct debit organisations may require direct contact from you.

You must be 13 years or over to apply for an ANZ Visa Debit card.

Automated transactions include EFTPOS, Visa Debit, ATM, and mobile wallet transactions, as well as all electronic payments and other transactions made using ANZ goMoney, ANZ Internet Banking, ANZ Phone Banking, and ANZ Direct Online.
