Apply for ANZ FastPay Tap and if approved by 20 February 2025 you’ll get the first 12 months of the Monthly Support Fee ($10 plus GST) and the Monthly Device Fee ($5 plus GST per applicable device) waived.

Existing customers will have their Monthly Support Fee and any Monthly Device Fees automatically waived up until October 2025.

Tap to Pay on iPhone is now available with ANZ FastPay Tap. That means you can accept most types of in-person, contactless payments – from physical debit and credit cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets (Visa and Mastercard only). It’s easy and secure, and no additional hardware is needed. All you need is an iPhone.

No additional hardware

There’s no need to invest in and manage card readers and terminals, so Tap to Pay on iPhone makes it simple to start a new business or expand a current one. With just an iPhone and ANZ FastPay Tap, you can accept contactless payments. It’s that simple.

Privacy and security built in

Tap to Pay on iPhone uses the built-in security and privacy features of iPhone to help protect your business and customer data. When a payment is processed, Apple doesn’t store card numbers or PIN information on the iPhone or on Apple servers. Merchants and customers can rest assured that their data stays theirs.

PIN transaction protection

Transactions that require PIN entry will automatically prompt a PIN entry screen when using Tap to Pay on iPhone. When that screen appears, Tap to Pay on iPhone is designed to prevent apps in the background from reading sensors that could give away any part of the PIN. When a payment is processed, Tap to Pay on iPhone is designed to prevent all photo, video, screenshot and screen-recording features on the merchant’s iPhone from capturing a customer’s card number or PIN information.

Accessible for everyone

For customers needing visual or other assistance, accessibility options are built into Tap to Pay on iPhone to help them securely enter PIN information. Audible instructions guide customers to draw their PIN on the screen or tap the screen to indicate each digit — tapping once for 1, twice for 2 and so on. To submit their PIN, they simply swipe right with two fingers.

Settlement cutover and transaction processing times

  • The settlement cutover time for FastPay Tap is 8pm.
  • For transactions processed before the settlement cutover time, you’ll be able to access the funds the next morning. 
  • For transactions processed after the settlement cutover time, these transactions will be processed the next day and you’ll be able to access the funds the following morning.
  • For all transactions, funds will leave the customer's account immediately. 
  • Refunds are processed overnight on the day they are issued.
  • EFTPOS transactions are not available with FastPay Tap.

  • You must be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a work visa valid for 12 months.

ANZ FastPay is only available to approved merchants who meet ANZ's credit approval criteria. ANZ FastPay transactions must be settled into an ANZ  bank account. Eligibility criteria and fees apply.
