Top tips to make your banking easier
Our Private Client Services team share their tips
This quarter, our Private Client Services team shares ways to make your everyday banking an even better experience. Below are five features – including some new digital developments – that help do just that.
Tip 1. Get even better control of your cards
We’re always looking for ways to offer you greater control over the way your cards and mobile wallet (Apple Pay— or Google Pay™—) can be used, as well as more protection against fraudulent transactions. We’re pleased to offer new card settings in the ANZ goMoney mobile app that allow you to turn on or off:
- Online shopping
- Contactless purchases
- Overseas in-person transactions
- Online gambling.
These features are automatically set to ‘on’, but you can switch them off and on as you wish via the app. Please note there's a 48-hour stand-down period when switching the ‘online gambling’ function back on (ANZ staff are not able to override this stand-down period).
Tip 2. Earn (and keep earning) Airpoints
If you have one of our ANZ Airpoints™— Visa credit cards, you accumulate Airpoints Dollars™ on eligible purchases—, including transactions made on your card when it has a positive balance. To avoid needing to apply for a credit limit increase when you have large expenses coming up, you can top up your card into a positive balance to cover the expenses – and continue to earn Airpoints Dollars, too.
Tip 3. A new layer to our fraud protection
As part of our commitment to keeping your money safe, we’ve launched ANZ Fraud Check. If we spot unusual transactions or activity on your ANZ EFTPOS, Visa Debit or credit card, we may send you a text or email asking you to let us know if the purchase was authorised.
To prevent further unusual transactions, your card may be blocked until we receive your reply. Simply reply ‘Yes’ to confirm if the purchase was authorised, or ‘No’ if the purchase wasn’t authorised. You won’t be asked to click on a link.
Tip 4. Manage lost or stolen cards with goMoney
Your goMoney— app is a useful tool if your ANZ EFTPOS, Visa Debit, or personal credit card ever goes missing. Under Services > Manage card you can:
- Report it lost or stolen
- Order a replacement card
- Set up (and remove) a temporary block on your card. When blocked, your card can’t be used for any transactions and any direct debits you’ve set up from this card won’t be made. Please note that any card fees will continue to be charged if applicable.
You can perform these actions using ANZ Internet Banking— if you prefer – just look for Manage cards under 'Your settings’.
Tip 5. Easily reduce your credit card limit
You don’t have to visit a branch to reduce your credit card limit. You can manage this with just a few taps via the goMoney App.
Whether you’re new to ANZ or have been banking with us for some time, we hope you find these tips useful.
